Catarina Branco is a young choreographer seeking to create social impact through movement.

She is interested in thinking about the perception of bodies in social and political contexts, claiming the body's right to exist in freedom, dignity, and without constraints.

Her aim is to create a close relationship between artists, communities, and audiences.


studies

She has a Master's degree in Choreographic Creation and Professional Practices from the Escola Superior de Dança in Lisbon (2024), where she had classes with Joana Von Mayer Trindade, Rafael Alvarez, Victor Hugo Pontes, Né Barros, André Lepecki, Ângelo Cid Neto, Tiago Cadete, Ana Trincão and Amélia Bentes. She also has a Master's degree in Architecture from the Escola Superior Artística do Porto (2016), was part of the FAICC at the Centro Coreográfico Instável (2020) and took the Dance course at the Institute of Arts Barcelona (2021).

As a choreographer, she premiered reCoVered2020 (2021), CARLOS (2022), não é amor (2024) and, more recently, que dia é hoje? (2025). She is currently developing sobre os que voam (2025), a collaborative creation with the migrant community of Bonfim, a coproduction of Cultura em Expansão.

As a performer, she participated in a hora em que não sabíamos nada uns dos outros by Olga Roriz (2023) and Dança, Onde Estás? (2024) by Né Barros on the 92nd anniversary of Teatro Municipal do Porto (TMP).
